Naomi Gilon
The fantastical objects and creatures of Naomi Gilon nestle themselves in between reality and fantasy; temporarily suspending the ambience towards the realm of fairytales, eerie hallucinations and grotesque dreams. Working with a wide range of unconventional materials such as imitation leather and fur, coach work of cars, plaster, ceramics and concrete, Gilon’s artworks evoke an explicit; though unassuming presence. By rhyming the monstrous with elegance; she hints at unconscious associations and instincts, and at the co-existing various embodied forms of being.
