Elise Peroi (b. 1990, Nantes) is a visual artist, weaver and performer, whose practice is informed by a will to reconcile and blur rigid categorisations between craftsmanship, performance and the visual arts in general. Her works are often the result of physical performances with textile, in which ancestral weaving techniques appear like forms of contemporary dance, expressing a quest for unison between the body of the artist and the works she is creating. This encompassing approach often brings her to collaborate with choreographers and musicians, as a way to install a temporal though timeless reality. She depicts opulent, but tranquil landscapes in order to express a poetic encounter between mankind and nature, made apparent through the motif of the garden.
