About Brussels Gallery Weekend

Since 2008, Brussels Art Days is organizing the 4-day-event Brussels Gallery Weekend, which takes place every September. The Brussels Gallery Weekend is an event that launches the artistic season with a dynamic program of exhibitions, panel, discussions and tours of the city’s leading contemporary art galleries and institutional art venues.

Within this event, Brussels Gallery Weekend also organises its own exhibition called Generation Brussels which is about highlighting the Brussels young creation not yet represented by a gallery. Every year, the exhibition is curated by a different young guest curator.

The Brussels Gallery Weekend presents each year a wide program with many debates, conferences, performances, VIP events, guided tours, etc. allowing the public to discover the richness of the Brussels art scene.

Brussels Art Days

Brussels Art Days is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the incredible richness of the Belgian contemporary art scene. For this purpose, several actions are developed by the team. Although the Brussels Gallery Weekend is their main activity, many other initiatives are organized during the year.

Throughout the year, the association organizes Gallery Walks, guided tours between the galleries of a same district. Brussels Art Days also runs several social projects, working hand in hand with several youth centers and associations in order to open up the world of contemporary art to an audience that is not familiar with it. These collaborations take the form of visits to private collections, workshops, creation of artworks with artists from the Brussels Gallery Weekend, etc. Finally, the association leads the project Sparks, an initiative intended to accompany art students towards professionalization after their graduation.
