About Brussels Gallery Weekend

Since 2008 Brussels Gallery Weekend is organising the similarly named 4-day-event Brussels Gallery Weekend, which takes place every September. The Brussels Gallery Weekend is an event that launches the gallery season with a dynamic program of exhibitions, panel discussions and tours of the city’s leading contemporary art galleries and institutional art venues.

Within this event, Brussels Gallery Weekend also organises its own exhibition called Generation Brussels which is about highlighting the Brussels young creation not yet represented by a gallery. Every year, the exhibition is curated by a different young guest curator.

In 2022, for its 15th anniversary, BGW gives carte blanche to a selection of galleries who bring large format works. The project is named ‘Sculpture Factory’.

Next to this, Brussels Gallery Weekend organises the Gallery Walks. The Gallery Walks will guide you through a cluster of galleries within a specific district of Brussels on Saturday afternoon’s. Following these interactive itineraries you’ll discover the exhibitions of the month.

The City of Brussels

Group 13 (2)

The city of Brussels is known of its liveliness and its multiculturality; from internationally renowned museums and high-pitched galleries to small artist’ ateliers and free café concerts, a city where you can find chic neighborhoods, as well as urban up-and-coming neighborhoods.

A raw place where you can wander through the streets to discover something new every time. As varied as the city itself is also the Brussels art scene.
